Our History

Our Beginning
Prairie View Christian Church was planted by East 91st Street Christian Church. Erick Riddle was the founding minister. Our first service was held on September 29, 1991, in New Britton Elementary School.

In October 1995, Prairie View moved out of New Britton Elementary and began renting the church building at 12201 Lantern Road (presently the Alhuda Foundation).

Our Location
In November 2001, we purchased seven acres of land at 141st Street and Allisonville Road, and began plans to build on that location. Later, we bought another acre there, which now houses our outdoor shelter and sand volleyball court.

In May 2004, the groundbreaking took place at the 141st Street and Allisonville Road property. Construction began in June. On March 13, 2005, we held our first worship service at our new building.

Our Leaders
Prairie View has employed many different leaders over the years, and we’re grateful for their service to our church. Those people include:

Erick Riddle

Joe LaRue

Steve Mozingo

Robby Spillman

Ryan Loucks

Tom Harrigan

Eric Roseberry

Scott Kline

Mike Wiencek

Jeff Stearns

Kenny Scott

God has used many people, places, and things throughout our church’s history to help us get where we are today. We’re thankful for his grace and faithfulness over many years, and look forward to how he’ll use our church in the future.
